When can I expect results?
The Fueltec will treat the fuel as it passes through the unit. Therefore, it is not unusual to see results on the first tank of fuel. However, because the fuel is burning more cleanly, it will begin to clean out the engine. That initial cleaning process might produce results that look worse for the first couple of tanks. It also can cause the vehicle to run roughly, because it has been adjusted to account for the current state of engine. It is sometimes necessary to have the vehicle re-tuned to accommodate the cleaner-burning fuel.

What are the results likely to be? Road tests of the Fueltec have shown that mileage might be increased by anywhere from 5 to 25 percent, depending on the vehicle. Reductions in emissions vary, depending on the age and maintenance of the vehicle. Reductions in emissions vary, depending on the age and maintenance of the vehicle. The highest reductions have been shown in hydrocarbons (HC) and nitrous oxide (NOx), the worst polluting factors of exhaust.

How is the unit maintained?
Since the Fueltec uses no consumable components, has no moving parts and is a sealed unit that is installed into the fuel line, it will continue to operate as designed for the life of its installation. It requires no maintenance or adjustment.
TOP
Will installation affect my warranty?
A study of warranty information from major automakers indicates that warranties would not be affected by addition of the Fueltec, since it does not have anything to do with the mechanical operation of the vehicle.
TOP
Does the Fueltec carry a warranty?
Yes. The unit carries a five-year manufacturing warranty and a 120-day satisfaction guarantee on performance.
TOP
Which way is the Fueltec installed?
The unit is non-directional. It does not matter which way the fuel passes through.

Where is the unit installed? In cars and light trucks, it is best to install the Fueltec after any fuel filter, when possible, and before the engine compartment (random EMF's - electromagnetic fields - caused by certain parts of the engine, such as the alternator, can effect the performance of the unit). Any secure location about half way along the vehicle is suitable for installing the unit. It should be located 8" to 12" away from any computerized components. In large trucks and buses (diesel), installation depends on the configuration of the engine. Where possible, the unit should be installed after fuel filters and located anywhere a secure mount can be found. It should not be closer than 8" to 12" from any computerized component. It can be held in place with heavy clamps or a U-bolt. The unit cannot be hurt by a tight installation. The unit is usually best installed with pressure fittings on the ends (not provided since applications vary with engines).

If the technology works so well, why don't vehicle manufacturers put it on their new vehicles?
Fuel efficiency has never been a huge concern for automakers. Designers have been more concerned about vehicle weight and size than efficiency in fuel usage. Consumers are concerned by fuel prices; designers are not. It was only after clean air laws began to come into play that catalytic converters became a necessary part of engine design. With emission standards becoming more strict, such devices in all likelihood will be more seriously considered by designers in the future.
